The idea for Oregon Harvest started in 1996 when local photographer Peter Marbach embarked on a five-year adventure documenting Oregon's farm country. He looked at the various harvests, from crabbing in the Oregon Coast to berries and grapes in the Willamette Valley to tulips and hay in Southern Oregon and cherries, pears and apples in the Columbia Basin. The accompanying text by Bruce Pokarney, who worked for the Oregon Department of Agriculture, gives you a great appreciation for the people who work the farm land. If you need both an inspirational book and a spectacular coffee table book, then you'll be pleased with this one.
